Thai food in Alexandria

I notice that opinions about the best Thai food in Alexandria are all of the place.

I love Thailand Royal Street Restaurant (see my review) and am surprised that no one has mentioned this place yet (besides me).

What is your favorite Thai restaurant in Alexandria and why?

Thanks!

Trip Advisor Dining Reviews are definitely lacking. As of yet, I haven%26#39;t used the opinions in the dining section very much because they are usually just from one or two people and it%26#39;s hard to gauge a restaurant%26#39;s quality from one or two reviews that make it the most popular restaurant! (Especially if it%26#39;s a place I don%26#39;t particularly like myself!) Keep writing those reviews, though and eventually, the TA dining guide will be a great resource!

Hey kpcod: I%26#39;ll bite. Perhaps it is because there are literally two Thai Restaurants on every block for the length of King Street (no exaggeration). Each restaurant has its own personality. I have tried Thai Royal, but am not that impressed. Myself I prefer Mai Tai at 100 King when we have friends and family because of the colorful atmosphere and location and views. Being that is has a nice view of the Potomac, it is one of my usual choices. As for food taste and quality. My favorite is Old Town Thai. They were the pioneers on King Street.

Now if we could only get Chinese in Old Town...life would be Schweet!!

Just to avoid any confusion, Mai Thai is at 6 King Street, not 100 King. 100 King Restaurant is at 100 King Street.

You are right, bbbeyers. There are quite a few of Thai restaurants in Alexandria.

I just really enjoy Thailand Royal and wondered if there was anyone else out there that felt the same way. I guess these discussions prove that food preferences are very subjective.

Thanks for chiming in!

P.S.-A good view does make the food taste better, doesn%26#39;t it?

Like the other poster, I%26#39;m not a big fan of Thailand Royal Street. Food is average. Okay for take out but not a night out.

Mai Tai is my favorite with Tai Old Town on King near Market Square coming in second.
