hotel advice

I%26#39;ll be in Va Beach for a wrestling tournament at Salem HS (VA Beach), the weekend of March 14th. I%26#39;d heard the Hilton Garden Town Center was a good choice, but it%26#39;s full for Saturday. The hotel recommended by the tournament is the Hilton Norfolk Airport, but the reviews don%26#39;t look so hot and it%26#39;s in Norfolk, not Va Beach. Any advice?

Thanks!!

Consider staying at an oceanfront hotel, nice views, great boardwalk (2 1/2 mi long) and rates are lower than summer prices. There is a Hilton at 31th St, 2 Marriotts and many others, check hotel section for reviews. Good Luck.

Another option -- you%26#39;ll be about 15-20 minutes from the Greenbrier area of Chesapeake. There are a number of good hotels, all fairly new. Check visitchesapeake.com and click on accommodations.

Thanks. Is there anything good near that Town Center Hilton Garden Inn? I heard there were great resturants, etc, very near by.

Absolutely - this is a newly remodeled/renovated area of Virginia Beach. Lots of restaurants - PF Changs, Macaroni Grill, Smokey Bones, Gordon Biersch, Keagan%26#39;s Irish Pub, Bravo (Italian), Cheesecake Factory, Guadalajara, California Pizza Kitchen, and more. In fact, here%26#39;s a website: towncenterofvirginiabeach.com

Thanks. Is there an available good hotel nearby? Westin and Hilton Garden Inn appear to be full.

Yes. Nearby are a Fairfield Inn, Candlewood Suites, Suburban Lodge, Intown Suites, Crown Plaza, and a Days Inn. A little bit further down the boulevard is a Residence Inn.

The weekend you are coming is also the weekend of the Shamrock Marathon at the VB oceanfront, so, undoubtedly most of the oceanfront locations will be booked because this is a really big event. I agree with the advice to check out the Greenbrier location...there are really nice motels there and most of them are under 3 years old. Also, there is a nice choice of restaurants nearby.

Thanks to all!
