We%26#39;re flying into Dulles and spending some time in that area and then want to go to possiblly Philly for a quick stop of perhaps a night and NYC for a a couple or few days. Best to rent a car? Or is train or some other trans better? Thanks in advance for everyone%26#39;s help.

I%26#39;m not sure why this is posted in the Virginia BEACH forum as opposed to Virginia (in general) or Washington DC. You might get more responses, or at least more prompt ones, if you post in those 2 areas.

Amtrak from Alexandria or DC%26#39;s Union Station would be an easy way to get to the Northeast. You can check out their web site-or if you want to rent a car for a week or 2, do so from Dulles. With a rental you can stay on your own schedule instead of theirs.
