Chicks Beach & Norfolk - (2) Requirements

We are relocating to Norfolk from San Diego in March and first question:

1: We need somewhere (with kitchen) to stay for (10) days while our furniture etc arrives. Chesapeake preferred as will be house hunting in Chicks Beach. Hotel that will take pets etc, near beach would be nice...have $180.00 per night allowed.

2: Renting in Chicks Beach: So many postings through Craigslist and Real Estate agents, list Chicks Beach, although when look at a map, it looks more like Ocean View. We want to live within (2) blocks from the beach (Duck Inn) I believe is there...that area anyway on the beach side of Shore Drive.

Can anyone suggest good real estate agents or is it best to just wait til we get there, which don%26#39;t really want to do.

On a map, can some be honest as to the best part of Chicks Beach to live (pets, beach, young children - no scum).

The Duck Inn is no more.

I%26#39;m not sure precisely which hotels will take pets --only a few do (maybe Days Inn, Doubletree but it%26#39;s not on the ocean). You can do a search using the box just above this screen (not the one in the far left table). This topic has come up before.

Agents - I don%26#39;t know any personally - but some big firms are Rose %26amp; Womble, GSH, ReMax, Long %26amp; Foster, William E. Wood, Prudential Decker, Nancy Chandler Associates, Coldwell Banker.

Wyndham Hotel 57th St oceanfront (North End Va Bch formerly Ramada) accepts pets but only has some rooms w/ microwave %26amp; refridg, fairly close to Chicks Beach for house hunting

Best Western Holiday Sands Inn %26amp; Suites 1330 E Oceanview Norf (beachfront) not sure of pet policy but they have a seperate blg w/suites that have kitchenette. Fairly convenient to Chicks. Check reviews for these (if interested) or scan the hotel listing for properties w/suites and the amenities you need.

Chicks Beach may look like Norfolk on the map but it is Va Beach; both cities have Shore Dr. and Chesapeake Bay. Good Luck.
