Looking for a Nice Hotel

I%26#39;m attending a wedding in Portsmouth the first weekend in February, with the reception in Norfolk. I%26#39;m looking for a nice hotel in Norfolk for one night. Any suggestions? I%26#39;ve done a search of hotels in the area so I know what%26#39;s there; just wanted some first-hand feedback. Thanks.

I would go with the Marriott at Waterside. It%26#39;s beautiful, in a nice location, and has good places to eat right on site if you don%26#39;t want to venture out. It%26#39;s easy enough to get to either tunnel to Portsmouth or to walk over to the ferry to Portsmouth (in case the wedding is in walking distance of the ferry).

I would also agree the Marriott at Waterside is your best bet if you are staying in downtown Norfolk. My second choice is the Sheraton at Waterside if the Marriott is booked. Either hotel offers plenty of restaurants, bars, with-in walking distance on Granby St.

Thanks for your suggestions. I was considering either the Marriott Waterside or the Courtyard not too far away. Do either of you know anything about the Courtyard? Is it within walking distance of the Marriott Waterside?

Yes, you can walk from one to the other.

Well, that wasn%26#39;t helpful. I suppose healthy people could walk great distances. But actually, we%26#39;re talking only a couple blocks, so it%26#39;s an easy stroll even for us who are in lousy shape. HA!
