I need some help. My boyfriend and I have decided to go to Va Beach this month(February, 2008)and I would like to find a hotel that fits our needs- or at least narrows it down to a few choices instead of a bunch of hotels to decide from. Neither of us have been to Va Beach in many many years.I can%26#39;t wait to see how its changed! I would like an ocean front room, on the boardwalk, close to things. I am a stickler on having a nice bathroom(prefer jacuzzi-but not a must). I dont want to spend over $100 a night for the room, prefer to have it around $75 st most. I know I can get a nice room for the low price in the off-season...there%26#39;s just soooooo many to look at. Could someone please help me to narrow it down? Thanks.
Where is the best place to stay in Virginia Beach???Since I live here, I don%26#39;t stay in the hotels, so I can%26#39;t give you first-hand help there. But until someone else comes along with a recommendation, why don%26#39;t you look at vbhma.com. It%26#39;s the hotel association website. You can browse all the member hotels, or you can narrow your search according to the amenities you desire.
Where is the best place to stay in Virginia Beach???Thank you!!! I will take a look.
I have not stayed at these hotels, but they are 2 of the newest ones on the oceanfront (might get a good deal during off season):
Hilton 31st and Springhill Suites (not sure of address but it%26#39;s the only Springhill on oceanfront). Check reviews, amentities, %26amp; price to see if these might be what you are looking for. Also, since you haven%26#39;t been to the beach for many years, click on ';know before you go'; in the left column and locate an article titled ';getting around';. This provides great, concise, info about the oceanfront area and how to determine which hotels are on the oceanfront/boardwalk. Good luck and enjoy your trip.
I%26#39;m thinking you must have checked out the other VB forum posts, such as the current %26#39;hotels%26#39; already.
Try the word search...the little empty box above these forum topics and see if exactly what you want comes up.
There was lots of discussion on budget hotels, but they%26#39;re not all on the oceanfront.
The Hilton is indeed beautiful...but I don%26#39;t know about the under $100 rate there.
I wonder if Springhill Suites%26#39; rate would be around what you%26#39;re looking for. They are very new and we found their bathrooms totally spotless. It%26#39;s around 9th and near lots of restaurants.
I%26#39;m away this weekend myself but got to check in here unexpectedly.
There%26#39;s not much more of Feb. left for you! Tell us what you have found from all you%26#39;ve read here and in previous discussions...when you%26#39;ve narrowed it down to a few if you don%26#39;t hit on one immediately. We%26#39;ll try to help further.
Thanks for everyones help. I leave next week for Virginia Beach. We%26#39;ve decided to go with the Sandcastle. A few of our friends suggested it. Although I am a little leary because the price is sooo cheap. Still, I think i%26#39;ll take the gamble. I%26#39;ve checked the reviews on this site about this particular hotel and, all in all, it sounds pretty good. I will let you know my thoughts on it when I return. To me I would have prefered the Hilton or Springhill Suites, but my boyfriend and I have agreed to do something a little cheaper this time around, as in the months to come we will be traveling alot.
Have a good time and let us know how the hotel is.
Star, one of my friends is a scrapbook consultant. She has hosted several ';girls weekend / scrapbook weekend'; events there and everyone has been very satisfied with the accommodations. Have a good trip - when you return, please post a review of the hotel and any restaurants you try.
