Anyone have questions about Virginia Beach
My husband and I have not been to Virginia Beach since we were young...so not sure about hotels/good areas to stay. We are not into partying or night life but not prudes either. We like a good pool, an ocean view from our room, a comfy bed and clean linens and bathrooms. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Mendy
Anyone have questions about Virginia Beach
Well, personally iv%26#39;e stayed at some nice hotel%26#39;s down in virginia beach. This will be my 7th year going to virgina beach and im staying at the residence inn this year and hopefully it will be nice. I did however see it last year well the inside of the hotel because there was no rooms to look at since they hotel was book it looked like a nice place. So maybe when i return i can give you an update on the hotel. But i have stayed at the two courtyards down there. The one on 37th street is really nice it has an outdoor pool with tropical rock waterfalls. They have a restraunt inside the lobby and laundry facilty. It also has an indoor pool and there prices are high during the summer season which can be a price of 300 a night. Depnding when you go is what you%26#39;ll pay, during the summer is the high season since everyones traveling and thats there popular time of bringing in tourist. The other hotel that%26#39;s nice is the courtyard on 25th street, it has no outdoor pool but it does have an indoor pool. Both hotel%26#39;s had similar set ups room wise. The 25th street location also has a restruant inside and laundry facilty. They are both nice hotels. Another nice hotel is the Holiday Inn Sunspree, if you have kids it%26#39;s good to because they have activites for them. They also have an outdoor pool, indoor pool and a lazy river. Which is really nice, it%26#39;s not a new hotel but they keep it clean they updated it recently so there are new things to look foward too. Also theres a pool bar where u can sit relax and even order food by the pool from there downstairs cafe. They have reasonable prices. Iv%26#39;e got picutres of the holiday inn if your interested in seeing them i can give them to you. Iv%26#39;e also stayed at new castle its a nice place too. It%26#39;s a smaller place with only a indoor pool. It%26#39;s also got a restraunt. It%26#39;s clean and the people are nice. The rooms are decent too. Another nice place iv%26#39;e seen but never been to is trutle cay they are timshares but you can see if they have anything. They have kitchens in them well depending if u get a room with one. They also have 2 outdoor pools and there located right across the street from the beach. They are really nice, though i never stayed there i did do the timeshare tour and got to see how nice the rooms are. Iv%26#39;e stayed at barcaly towers which is also a timeshare place. They only have an indoor pool it%26#39;s an older hotel but it%26#39;s allright. They have kitchens in there room just incase your looking for somewhere with a kitchen so u dont have to go out and eat and you can save some extra money. They don%26#39;t have much but if your looking for something smiple and easy its a good place. Iv%26#39;e found these websites helped me with my searching of hotels. www.vbhma.com or www.vabeach.com. I%26#39;d say the best places to stay are the courtyards on 37th street or 25th street, holiday inn sunspree which has reasonable prices during the summer and seem to be cheaper then the other hotels, turtle cay, new castle, fairfield inn, boardwalk. These places are what id choose but just remeber depending on when u go and where u stay is what you pay. If you need anything else please don%26#39;t hesitate to ask...
HAPPY TRAVELS!!!!
thanks so much...your reply helped to confirm what I had already researched on the web! Thanks again.

I%26#39;m looking to go to the beach for only two nights (7/27 and 7/28) and am on a REALLY tight budget. I%26#39;m contemplating between the Super 8 and Travelodge which are both very close to the ocean. (i%26#39;ve read reviews, and they%26#39;re all pretty negative, so I%26#39;m a little scared) Any suggestions?? Also, while there, I%26#39;d like to go to a really good seafood buffet or seafood resaurant. What%26#39;s the best one there? Thanks for the help - I%26#39;m in great need! haha
Dinald444, For dining, you might click on the Overview tab at the top of the screen. Click on Inside Virginia Beach. Scroll down to Dining -- you%26#39;ll see lots of suggestions. You can also use the search box to search for previous discussions of seafood buffets, etc.
As for the negative reviews, keep in mind these are written by travelers just like you. Often people are critical when a hotel doesn%26#39;t meet their expectations - understandable, but sometimes people expect more than they are willing to pay for. So read the reviews ';between the lines.';
I%26#39;d stay at the super 8 hotel. I wouldn%26#39;t stay at the travel lodge. I don%26#39;t think that would be a good choice. Some places to get seafood are mahi mah%26#39;s there food is really good. It%26#39;s located inside the ramadma on the ocean. Also try dirty dicks it%26#39;s off the ocean but not far. It%26#39;s over at rudee%26#39;s on the inlet. Also there is rockerfella%26#39;s alittle more pricy but also has great seafood which is also located on the inlet near dirty dicks. Also waterman%26#39;s which is right on the oceanfront is really good as well too, ask for outdoor seating if your going for the summer. It%26#39;s a gerouges view of the ocean!! Also i%26#39;d ask before u go how long the wait is or make a reservation ahead of time.
Thank you both for all the help - I%26#39;ll use your suggestions. I%26#39;m very appreciative! :)
