La Tienda

Can someone please tell me where this store is located in Williamsburg? I just discovered their website today. Their Spanish food and products look good. Is this place worth a shopping trip on our next visit to Williamsburg?

Thank you for your help.

La Tienda

great people and products. They%26#39;ve had several locations - now in the industrial park in Toano. The google map on the website is accuratre - easy to find, approx 15 min from CW, you can drive straight up Rt 60 if you want, or take I-64

La Tienda

Their address and directions are on their website in the ';contact us'; link. The address is 3601 LaGrange Parkway in Toano. They recently opened a second retail outlet, called Tu Tienda, in the same shopping center as the K-Mart. K-Mart is at 118 Waller Mill Road.

Thank you Bridgefan and Zoey. Had I not read an article in our local paper, I would not have known about this place. It just reinforces my feeling that no matter how often my husband and I visit Williamsburg, there is always a new discovery.

And, since my husband loves to cook, I%26#39;m sure he will find something culinary related.

Thanks again!

I%26#39;m not sure it%26#39;s worth a trip just for this shop - they specialize in shipping items, and the stuff, while unique for our area since we have limited variety in specialty foods, is certainly not exclusive.

If you%26#39;re near a large city you can get the products easily enough - or online. check out the website for the producs, it may be worth it to you.

If you go to the area consider eating at Hog wild Smokehouse - great Q - homemade soup and sides, locally owned, great people.

I was wrong - Tu Tienda is not affiliated with La Tienda. It is a shop specializing in latin foods with brands such as Goya and Jumex. It will also carry more gift/souvenir items in season. It was still interesting, though.

Zoey, I made the exact same mistake about that Latin food shop on 2nd st. thinking it was La Tienda. I sent my entire family paella kits from La Tienda. They all raved. I remember when they had that small store at Five Forks. Now I read about them in Gourmet.

I appreciate the additional updates; and, we do enjoy visiting ethnic stores.

I think La Tienda is a great place to visit and browse. The owners are very friendly, and very eager to share their knowledge of Spanish food, and you can sample some of the foods prior to buying. You may have heard that they are one of the first places in the US to be able to import Iberico Jamon (spanish ham)- a real coup! Just check their hours as they have limited retail hours. If you are a foodie and/or a lover of Spanish food, I think you%26#39;ll really enjoy it!

Yes, I%26#39;m aware of their designated status regarding the ham. It sounds wonderful. Very different from all other hams. It is also nice when shops allow you to sample certain things before purchasing them.

Thanks for your info.
