Any Factory Outlets near Old Town Alexandria ?

Hi!

I will be travelling to and staying in Alexandria in end March.

Can I know are there any factory outlets near or in Alexandria itself or do I have to travel out of Alexandria to get to the factory outlets?

Thanks!

You will have to go outside Alexandria.

Potomac Mills is south in Woodbridge. The better one is in Leesburg. There are some in Maryland too.

All will require a car to get to.

There is actually a Gap Outlet right in the heart of Old Town. It was the best surprise of my trip! They had great deals. I%26#39;m sure you are looking for more stores, but if you like Gap, I%26#39;d stop in while you are there.

Hi Iwhiteree!

Thanks for the information!

I will not be driving. If I were to go to PotoMac Mills (in woodbridge) and Leesburg, can I reach there via METRO, rail or bus?

Would you know how long it would take for me to get to each of these place?

Hi pug13!

Thanks for the information!

Can you let me know where is the GAP outlet in old Town? I would love to go there.

Thanks in advance!

It is right in the heart of all the shopping in Old Town. It is on the corner of King St and Washington St. If you are shopping along King St. you won%26#39;t be able to miss it. It, along with Banana Republic, takes up most of the corner. However the BR is not an outlet.

Hope you find some great deals. Have fun!!

No, no Metro access to either. I have no idea how you would get there via a bus. It probably would be easier to get to Woodbridge via public transportation instead of Leesburg. Not even sure if there is bus service out to Leesburg, and if there is, it probably only runs for peak commuting hours for business persons.

If you really want to go shopping for the day, and aren%26#39;t on a tight budget, consider hiring a car service for the day if you don%26#39;t want to rent a car and drive yourself. There are a lot of limousine companies in the DC area that have sedan service that caters to politicians and executives. A lot of these also offer tour services.

Potomac Mills has info on their website on how to get there via public transport.

There is also a Crate %26amp; Barrel outlet on Prince St. near the King Street metro -- right in Old Town.

Hi iwhiteree and all

Thanks for all the information.

I went to surf potomac and leesburg%26#39;s website and found that leesburg has a Coach store there whereas potomac does not have one. I am keen to get Coach bags. Anyone has any idea where else i can go other than leesburg to get it?

If I were to rent a car and drive down to leesburg, is it a difficult journey and how long would it take?

Also, i read that sales tax is imposed in certain regions. Does that mean that on top of whatever I buy in potomac or leesburg, I have to bear in mind that there will be a sales tax of ?% imposed ?

Appreciate if any kind souls could give me advice on my queries.

Thanks in advance!

Yes, sales tax on top of whatever you buy. Unless you shop in the state of Delaware-no sales taxes in Delaware.

Here is a site with outlet stores:

You can view them by state. If you are curious about sales taxes, here is a table:

it is from 2007, but as far as I know, still current for the D.C. area. 5% is your average.
