Know that the area is quite small, has few bars/pubs,etc - almost all will advertise for St Patrick%26#39;s Day, in reality nothing different, maybe some green beer, but not exactly a hopping party town. When you get to town buy The Virginia Gazette, our local paper printed on wednesday %26amp; Saturday and look at the ads.
If you go to Va beach or Richmond you might get a bigger party atmosphere if that%26#39;s what you%26#39;re looking for. The Daily Press is a daily (yes, as named!) paper that covers the NN/Hampton areas and The Virginian Pilot for the southside/beach areas.
St Patrick%26#39;s Day or not Paul%26#39;s deli has happy hour drink prices/specials during the week, it%26#39;s not kind of a greasy deli, near the College, great people. if you want more upscale any of the regular places in town
