Can you recommend a family-freindly restaurant near Jamestown? Looking for one with a nice atmosphere and healthy options on the menu, like seafood. Thanks!
Nice restaurant in Jamestown
Jamestown Settlement has a cafeteria-style restaurant. I don%26#39;t think the cafe at Historic Jamestowne has opened yet. Your best bet will be to make the drive into Williamsburg.
Nice restaurant in Jamestown
We were planning to go to one of the top ten Williamsburg restaurants listed on Tripadvisor, like Food for Thought, Fat Canery%26#39;s or one of the other seafood places like Aberdeen Barn/ Whaling Co. But convenience is almost as important as the food. Before spending the day at Jamestown, we will have travelled from Northern Va. , so our 5 and 8 yr-old will probably be a bit tired %26amp; hungry. Although this will be a Tues. night, which is easier to get a table/parking space?
I%26#39;m a little confused by your post. If I%26#39;m understanding it, you are driving from NOVA, touring Jamestown, and want a place for dinner Tuesday night (after Jamestown?) For Fat Canary, you need to make advance reservations, and it%26#39;s not particularly kid-friendly. Parking can be iffy, although there is a parking garage and a lot (each is $1/hour) just a block away. Aberdeen Barn is best for steaks/prime rib and the like. It%26#39;s on Richmond Road, aka Restaurant Row - lots of restaurants on RR. Plenty of free parking Whaling Company (in spite of it%26#39;s name) has good steaks, and it also has good fish/seafood. It%26#39;s near Kingsmill/Busch Gardens with plenty of free parking.
Let us know if you have other questions.
Was at both Jamestown sites this weekend and the small cafe at the historic location (where the actual fort stood and they are digging artifacts) is open w/sandwiches, soup and pizza, quality fair but you can sit on the patio and overlook the river which was nice. The settlement (I get so confused w/their names) which will have the recreated fort and indian village also has a cafeteria. Both are run by either VA state parks or national park service. Did not go into the town of jamestown but CW is so close w/many options. We really liked second street w/great kids menu and good quality food for adults at good price. Another review somewhere raved about their scallops. Hope this helps some.
Glad to hear the cafe is open at Historic Jamestowne. It%26#39;s run by the same people who have Second Street. Last I%26#39;d heard, about a month ago, the park service didn%26#39;t know when it was going to open.
You didn%26#39;t go into the town of Jamestown for a good reason. The town stood where Historic Jamestowne is; there is no town named Jamestown now.
thanks Zoey, got it mixed up w/Yorktown.
