We never went to VA.
Also considering Carolina Beach, NC. Which would be nicer?
We want to be in an oceanfront hotel on the beach and
be able to walk to nearby restaurants (nothing fancy) to eat breakfast and dinner.
Also, we LOVE to antique - (nothing fancy) at antique malls and consignment shops. Does VA Beach area have these ???
If so, where can you suggest?
We don%26#39;t want to be in a super busy area, where it%26#39;s hard to drive in and out of area because of traffic congestion.
Any help appreciated. Again, in addition to our other concerns, how is this compared to Carolina Beach, NC or Wrightsville Beach, NC?
Thank you!!!!!
HELP FIRST TIMER: Oceanfront hotel to walk to eat and...I%26#39;ll try to help with some of your questions....
Va Beach has a great resort area, wide beach, long boardwalk perfect for strolling, rollerblades, biking, lots of oceanfront hotels and plenty of restaurants. To get an understanding of the resort area, click on know before you go in the left column, then find getting around, this article will help you pick out hotels on the oceanfront etc. During the summer, the resort area is very busy, especially the 20-25 blocks in the center, from about 10th St to 31st St; then north and south ends (of about 10 blocks each) are usually a bit quieter but still close (walking) to everything.
There are many antique %26amp; consignment shops in Norfolk (20-30 min from oceanfront), especially downtown near Va Beach Blvd %26amp; Granby St, around Granby St %26amp; 25th, 26th Sts, and in the Ghent section on Colley Ave and on 21st St from Granby St to Colley Av.
Hope this helps.
