Colonial Williamsburg ';Admission';

If you were wanting to just tour Colonial Williamsburg (see the shops/sites, but not go into the museums, etc) is there still an admission fee?

Colonial Williamsburg ';Admission';

access to colonial williamsburg is initially free. Duke of Glouchester Street and the Merchant%26#39;s Square Shops are open to the public, and you are free to walk about and look around for yourself. but this doesn%26#39;t give you access to events, guided or audio tours, museums, exhibits, buildings, etc.

As a frequent visitor to Williamsburg, I strongly recommend to all my fellow travelers that they buy the admission tickets. You will miss out on the purpose of Colonial Williamsburg if you don%26#39;t visit the historic trade sites, the houses (George Wythe and Peyton Randolph to name two), the Palace and the Capitol. If you really enjoy history, it will be money well spent for you and your family.

I always recommend buying tickets for CW; you miss out on so much otherwise! I noticed your lodging question. CW often runs specials for reduced or even free tickets with lodging in one of their properties.
