Chownings for Dinner

I read they have ';family oriented'; entertainment at nights from 5-8, I tried to make a reservation but was told they do not take reservations, walk up only. Does that sound right ?

Chownings for Dinner

Yes, it does. It%26#39;s fun for families; you may be sharing your table with others. It%26#39;s not really a dinner place, but the tavern fare is good for a supper.

Chownings for Dinner

thanks Zoey ! We are very social so sharing a table is no problem.

You should have a great time...it%26#39;s fun to get to know your fellow travellers

This place sounds like it would be fun for our family - especially my 10yr old and 6yr old. Zoey, you mention it%26#39;s not really a place for dinner...can anyone recommend a more suitable dinner place to go to before our Ghost walk on Monday evening? Thanks in advance. :)

If there%26#39;s enough time before the ghost tour, I%26#39;d say Kings Arms. Take a look at the menus at http://www.cwf.org/visit/diningExperience/ to get an idea of the fare.

We went to Chownings last week. We were able to be seated right after the Revolutionary City program at the Courthouse next door featuring George Washington%26#39;s speech before he headed to Yorktown. Food was OK (we had pulled pork BBQ sandwiches, the kids had mac %26amp; cheese), service (our waitress was Lucy) and atmosphere were excellent. We shared a table for 8 with a most congenial group, enjoyed visits from several strolling musicians, a singer, and a magician, and had a blast playing a dice game with our tablemates. Highly recomended.
