Where to stay on South end?

Hi,

We%26#39;re planning a stay in mid-July and would prefer to stay on the south end farther from the crowds. The Springhill Suites looks perfect for us, but it is booked solid. Any other suggestions? I%26#39;ve looked at Surfside Oceanfront and Alamar, which are highly rated. However, from the pics, they look outdated. No high-speed internet, old decor; I worry about cleanliness in such places. How are some others, like Days Inn %26amp; Newcastle?

You might also look at Turtle Cay just across the street from the ocean in a beautiful Caribbean setting; and Ramada Inn on the Beach just across the street from Turtle Cay and oceanfront. It seems some of their rooms are better kept than others.

Alternatively, the north end is quieter too and you might give that a try.

Also check The Sandcastle. Friends have stayed there and really liked it.

Alamar is not oceanfront, but Explorer usually has good things to say for it.

Quality Inn %26amp; Suites Oceanfront is another option. I love the architecture of this place.

Newcastle%26#39;s reviews are up and down. I thought Surfside had recently renovated.

Yes, Alamar is a good price and neat and clean. But, yes, it%26#39;s older. I guess you%26#39;d say retro. Maybe not chic retro...but a good deal. Depends on what your needs are at the moment.
