I had some extra time and played this Golf Digest four star course. It%26#39;s two minutes from hotel down Sanford Dr. Top 10 course in state of Virginia. Great service and pace of play. Spacious practice facility and hit off grass. The guy grilling at the food pavilion was awesome! Get the Philly steak and cheese. Well worth it to play and/or practice. A must play even for 9 holes.
Cannon Ridge Golf Club
Played Cannon Ridge last week. Pros: Outstanding track. Great shape. Good views. Challenging. Emphasis on driving long/straight. Good, though expensive food/drinks. Friendly staff. Cons: No consistency between scorecard, yardage book, tee markers. Very frustrating. Need Marshaling as a slow foursome clogged up entire back nine. Also, some construction still going on which makes for dust in cart/practice areas. Will go back in a second. One of my VA faves.
