looking for any info on where to stay, things to do etc. while in martinsville. we are planning a fall trip for the nascar race and plan to spend and extra day or 2 sightseeing. looking at staying in roanoke area, as we%26#39;ve found nothing in mville thanks
martinsville trip
Yeah, Martinsville is small. But then everything around there is small too. Roanoke is going to be a good hour%26#39;s drive (unless you%26#39;re driving NASCAR style ha ha).
What do you like to do? Give us some ideas and we can help you. But in the meantime ...
You%26#39;ll be close to the Blue Ridge Parkway if you like leisurely drives with stunning views and a stop at an old grist mill. Friday nite in Floyd, VA is a blast if you have any interest in blue grass music. If you like hiking or biking, there%26#39;s the Virginia Creeper Trail in Damascus. In Abingdon, there%26#39;s a winery, theater, and a nice historical walking tour. There are other wineries just off the Blue Ridge Parkway. You%26#39;ll be close to Fairy Stone Park if you want to fish or hike the trails there, and if you have kids along they will have fun digging for fairy stones.
