Busch Gardens--discount tickets, coupons? Friday crowds?

We will be in Williamsburg May 1-4 and plan to go to Busch Gardens on Friday the 2nd. How will the crowds be that day? Will there be alot of school groups? Is Friday or Saturday a better day to go? Since we%26#39;re not Virgina residents, we can%26#39;t buy the fun card....Are there any coupons or discounts anywhere to help with the ticket costs? Also....can anyone tell me the driving time from the Hampton Inn Historic District to Busch Gardens?

Thanks TA!

We actually will be going a week from this Friday, so I%26#39;ll let you know about the crowd level when I get home. If you are ordering the one day tickets on line you can get some money off by putting the promo code ENT08 in the box. We were able to get 4 adult tickets for 203 dollars last week.

Lukesmom, that would be great! Where are you stayig in WB? We are planning on going to Busch Gardens on Friday, but have Sat and 1/2 Sunday available. Would love your ideas on what to do. Thanks for the code, will look into that. I was hoping they might have a buy one day, get the second day free type ticket because sometimes the BG in Tampa offers that.

thanks again!!

Floridanana:

Just be aware that the weekend of May 1-4 includes Mother%26#39;s Day, and their will be a big LPGA tournament going on at Kingsmill Resort. Depending on the weather and who%26#39;s playing sometimes there can be a lot of traffic, since the main entrance to Kingsmill is off the same road as the entrance to Busch Gardens. If you are driving from the Hampton Inn to BG it shouldn%26#39;t take you more than 15 minutes, but you may want to check the LPGA schedule since depending on when you go, traffic could be an issue.

Have fun!

Close, SydneyB, but not quite. Mother%26#39;s Day, the LPGA, and William %26amp; Mary commencement are all on May 11.

Whew....I like Zoey1996 info much better! LOL. Also, tried the code for BG tickets and it only works if you buy 4,,,,,so would still love any info on BG discount.

Thanks.

Oops - sorry - Mother%26#39;s day is indeed May 11...however the 2008 Michelob ULTRA Open at Kingsmill Resort DOES run May 5-11....

Floridanana,

Sorry you couldn%26#39;t use the promo. It seems to me that they had some deal on the internet where you can buy a pass you could use in the park for more than one day at only a few dollars over a one day admission price. The catch was that it expired seven days after you first use it, or something like that. They would be perfect for you if you plan on going more than one day. See if you can find it.

There is always Colonial Williamsburg to go to if you have time.

I%26#39;ll be staying at the Homewood Suites. I%26#39;m not really sure how far it is from the park, but it has a suite with two separate bedrooms, and that was what we were looking for.

I checked the website, it%26#39;s called the Discovery Ticket and for 69.95 you can go to the park as many times as you want in a seven day period . It%26#39;s only available up to May 7 th to use.

Thanks again Lukesmom..... The 7 day ticket might work really well for us....we wouldn%26#39;t feel so hurried to %26#39;see and do it all%26#39;, even if we only use it for 2 days, instead of the 7, it seems like that is a great cost. I thank you for your help!!

Another question....we are flying into Norfolk late on 5/1.....How long should our drive to WB take?

Thanks.

Floridanana, it should take about an hour from ORF to Williamsburg, but it could take longer; depends on traffic, road construction, etc.

The LPGA website www.lpga.com/tournament_microsite.aspx… says May 8 - 11, but there other activities associated with the tournament earlier in the week which may make traffic in that area a bit heavier than usual. Won%26#39;t affect you, floridanana, though.
