Need Locals Help

We are coming to Virgina Beach in July for an AAU Baseball Tournament. Currently we have reservations at The Founders Inn, problem is some families want to stay at the beach and we have received some good pricing from the Sandcastle Resort. Our concern is the traffic getting on/off the beach. We don%26#39;t know yet when or where the games will be played. Told they could be as much as 1 hr away, but would also be at local high school and colleges so we don%26#39;t want to stay at someplace that%26#39;s going to make it difficult to get to a field. I have also been told that the traffic in the area of the Founders is actually worse then the beach area.

Any and all comments/suggestions are welcomed!

Traffic is awful during rush hours and summer weekends, but not worse than other metropolitan areas. My opinion....Founders Inn is much better than Sandcastle (but I haven%26#39;t stayed at either); oceanfront is much better than Founders Inn area for fun, traffic, beach, boardwalk. The most trouble you%26#39;ll have leaving the beach to go to the game is rounding up the kids. Good luck.

Changing hotels makes it neither better nor worse. You will have no trouble getting out of hotel parking and onto the interstate. The people at the hotel might be able to give you alternate directions too.

Sure you want to stay at the beach. You%26#39;re coming all that way! What is it...10 miles more to the shore. Go for it since you got that good rate. It%26#39;s not far from the highway. You won%26#39;t be all that much out of the way.

Haven%26#39;t stayed at the Sandcastle but it%26#39;s in a good area and the reviews look reasonable. I always click on the reviewer%26#39;s name to see that they are not just a one shot deal because I just think that might be someone promoting the place, one review on the day they posted and never returned, although I%26#39;m sure that%26#39;s not always the case. Among the first...6...I think I looked at...reviews on Sandcastle 3 had many other reviews. The reviews look like they are telling the truth...not all glowing but honeest. You%26#39;ll love the concrete boardwalk for walkikng/biking, the next block back for all the shops, eating establishments, etc.
