We will be picking up family at Dulles in a few weeks to tour the WWII monument; where should we stop for lunch on the way to DC?
good lunch stop?
Assuming you will be traveling in and out via the Dulles Access Road/Toll road, there are a lot of good places at Reston Town Center.
What kind of environment/food do you want? Will there be children? Or do you want something strictly adult. Also, will this be weekday or weekend, as a lot of places get very crowded on weekdays for the business lunch crowd, so timing can be important.
good lunch stop?
No children; flight arrives at 11:40 AM. We just want to get lunch before we head into DC and it doesn%26#39;t need to be fancy.
On a Saturday; sorry :)
Here are your dining options there on this page:

You can look at other links on that site for directions, parking info, etc. It is easy on, easy off access from the Dulles Toll road.
There are all sorts of other ideas if you don%26#39;t find what you like there...I am sure others will respond.
Nearby the Reston Town Center, quick options would be Potbelly and Chipotle on Sunset Hills Rd. There%26#39;s a Five Guys (good %26#39;n greasy burgers) on Elden St in Herndon; oh, there%26#39;s also one in Plaza America Dr. just off Sunset Hills Rd in Reston. Also in the Plaza America shopping center is Champps (sportsbar), and some other quick eats. The list is here: http://www.restonusa.com/PlazaAmericaList.htm
You could go further down 267 and get off in Tyson%26#39;s Corner. Tyson%26#39;s Corner Center (aka Tyson%26#39;s 1) has a food court with lots of choices. It can be very crowded on a Saturday however. I would probably stick with Reston area to keep it simple.
If you%26#39;re thinking you%26#39;d like to do a ';sit-down'; restaurant from the Reston Town Center list, my favorites are Clydes, Rio Grande or McCormick %26amp; Schmicks. Do not go to ATR (American Tap Room)! The service is sloooow and occasionally grouchy.
Rio Grande is very nice. But can be a bit noisy. Good food.
Head north on 28 coming out of the airport, take the Waxpool Road exit and there is a Wegmans with a number of walk in restaurant places just around it.
A friend lives in Herndon and we met her there last weekend at a Pei Wei. Food was surprisingly tasty, very quick service. Certainly not somewhere I%26#39;d go on a date but if you are considering chain places it is easily one up from that!

Alternatively there is a pretty good Thai place a mile further down Waxpool Road. Just before the Embassy Suites hotel. Don%26#39;t let the strip mall put you off as the food was rather good. More of a proper restaurant atmosphere but nothing stuffy about it.

I considered posting the Wegmans, but it sort of takes them in the wrong direction if they%26#39;re going to head down to DC afterward. Albeit, not far out of the way. And the Wegmans can be a pain to get in and out of. Especially on a Saturday.
