Navy Ships and Jet tours
There are 2 tours you can take of the Naval Base in Norfolk; bus tour or boat tour, check out the details at www.norfolkvisitor.com/norfolknavy/
There is also a tour available the the jet base at Oceana, Va Beach more details at explorevirginiabeach.com/virginia-beach-ocea…
The bases are very interesting and offer a close up view of military sights and sounds. The area also has several great military museums, if interested post again and I%26#39;ll provide details. Enjoy.

Goneagain - thanks for the information!! We are staying one night at Virginia Beach and the next in Norfolk. Any other suggestions for the trip or places to eat? We like eating at the places you can%26#39;t find everywhere, i.e. no Texas Roadhouse, Olive Garden, McDonald%26#39;s, etc.
Thanks again for your help!!

So that the locals can better help you...when are you coming? What type food (seafood, burgers, pizza)and style (casual, upscale) are your favorites? Also, just in case you don%26#39;t know, Norfolk and Va Beach are next to each other, for example from downtown Norfolk to the Va Beach oceanfront is about 20-25 min, via I264. So if you have 2 hotel reservations and one looks better than the other you can keep you bags packed and just day trip to the other city. For good dining reccommendations, also click on ';restaurants'; in the column to left.

I realize that Norfolk and VB are close together, but we were hoping to drink more in Norfolk and staying there would save us a drive.
We are coming the first weekend of May, actually for the race in Richmond. More American food and some seafood.
Thanks again for your help.
Good idea. Wendymath gave you a great list to check out, I%26#39;ll add for the BEST burgers got to Kelly%26#39;s in Ghent, Colley Ave 5 min from downtown (no other Kelly%26#39;s location), and I 2nd Fellini%26#39;s on Colley Av for pizza and more, both are very casual, but there are so many great restaurants/bars downtown that you may not leave. If you are in Norfolk on a Friday, there is TGIF at the waterfront Town Point Park 5:30-8, no admission fee, live music, beverages, food, nice way to start off the evening. The events schedules for each city are at www.beachstreetusa.com and www.festevents.org
Enjoy your time in the area.
Just the questions I came on today to ask! Thanks!
We%26#39;re glad to help....enjoy the area.
