I need to rent a house in Emporia, VA for at least 4 months. I%26#39;ve been in emporia for almost 50 days and haven%26#39;t been able to find a home in a decent area. We are two and are very responsible. If you know of anyone or have any advice please help. I%26#39;m looking for a decent area and can pay $700. We have good credit and can provide reference.

Have you tried realtors in your area...and surrounding areas? Some sell as well as do property mgmt. Or maybe they could refer you to someone. I%26#39;m not a realtor but this one came up in a quick search:

Yes i have. in fact they gave me a list of people who rent. They don%26#39;t have anything or the house is in a very bad bad bad place. It%26#39;s so frustrating, I%26#39;ve been living in a hotel for 50 days and it%26#39;s so expensive!!

Have you considered renting a room from someone that would include kitchen privileges?

Is there anywhere in town where you could advertise that you are looking for a home, such as a bulletin board in a church, library, or post office?

Good luck in your search. I know it is difficult in a small town to find something.

there%26#39;s a house on church st that just become empty i don%26#39;t know who owns it maybe you could watch the paper closely the niebor hood is med nice homes and the one just empty is run down don%26#39;t know what the inside looks like but they piled all their stuff out on the crub that they did%26#39;nt carrie with them beds ect give their ice box to people down the street best i can do for now
