I was just wondering if the Red Lion Inn (formerly a Best Western), located at 900 Plantation Rd in Blacksburg, VA still exists. It is no longer listed on this website and I am having trouble finding information regarding this hotel. I do know that it lost its BW franchise not too long ago, but I am not sure of the current status of this hotel. Any information regarding this hotel would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
BW/Red Lion Inn-Blacksburg, VAI wonder if it got back the BW franchise? Some people have called it just the Red Lion but that might be because it%26#39;s been that for a long time. At any rate, places like phone book, expedia, etc. call it Best Western Red Lion.
Best Western Red Lion Inn 540-552-7770. 900 Plantation Rd.
BW/Red Lion Inn-Blacksburg, VANo, it is not a Best Western. I suppose the reason why some sources still list it as a Best Western is because it lost the franchise this past spring. I just checked the Best Western website again to make sure, but the hotel is not listed there. I am not quite sure what is going on. Maybe someone else knows and can help me out here.
okay....here%26#39;s the story...sad but true.

Google ';Red Lion Inn Blacksburg VA';- on the third or forth site down is a story that ran in the Virginia Tech news Feb. 26, 2006. Bruce Smith Enterprise(selected by The VT Foundation)is studing the feasibiity to redevelope the area. Things are sure changing in Blackburg all over the place. Hope this answers your question.
Happy in Blacksburg-
Is the the same Red Lion Inn that was once the Sheraton Red Lion Inn on Prices Fork Road? I went to school at VA Tech in the mid to late 70s and that%26#39;s what was there then. Of course that%26#39;s been a few years..... %26lt;sign%26gt;
Former Hokie and NFL superstar Bruce Smith has purchased it and will turn it into a beautiful place.
Great. Any word on when it will re-open? Is he tearing down/building/renovating?
I will post as info. comes in.
Look forward to it.
Why stay at the Red Lion Inn anyway? The Hawthorn Suites formerly the AmeriSuites is by far a much better hotel.
